The science behind Cyprophil

Developed to give anglers a real edge through consistent attraction and controlled bait breakdown.

Built around our newly formulated Cyprophil Liquid—a highly effective big carp amino acid blend—these boilies have shown exceptional performance during testing and out on the bank.

How to choose your Cyprophil setup

Three Breakdown Speeds - Total Control

Our range is designed around three precise breakdown times:

  • Fast Breakdown - rapid leakage for instant attraction
  • Medium Breakdown - balanced release for sustained feeding
  • Slow Breakdown - long-lasting presence for extended sessions

We also offer a Mixed Bag, containing equal amounts of all three breakdown types.

Our Recommendation:

For the best results, we suggest using an equal mix of all three breakdown speeds. This creates a layered release of attractants, continuously "roping" fish into your swim and keeping them feeding for longer. However, you can adjust your approach to suit your angling situation, session length, or conditions.

Applications

  • 01

    Typical Applications

Spodding, bait boats, and bait spoons are all excellent methods for applying our Cyprophil boilies. For best results, use equal amounts of each breakdown type.

  • 02

    Tester Favourites

Solid bags and stringers proved highly effective during testing. In the warmer months, you can use a combination of all three boilie types, or focus on the mid and slow breakdown options. During winter, the quicker breakdown boilies used in a solid bag have produced excellent results.

  • 03

Loose Feeding (by Hand or Catapult)

Great for short- to medium-range fishing. A light, regular spread of boilies helps create a consistent feeding area.

  • 04

    Margin Fishing

Ideal for close-range work. The different breakdown times create a constant release of attraction right where fish patrol.

  • 05

    Pre-Baiting Campaigns

Using a mix of all three breakdown types is perfect for pre-baiting. It keeps fish returning to the area as different boilies break down over time.

FAQs

No. Cyprophil boilies are designed to break down in water, so they are not suitable for use as hook baits.

Cyprophil boilies are typically soft and designed to break down, making them unsuitable for use with a throwing stick. However, if they are left to air dry and firm up, they can be used.

Most natural liquids or flavourings can be used with Cyprophil boilies. However, avoid using single, neat amino acids or hydrolysates.

This depends on the products being combined. You can use paste as a wrap or gel as a hook bait coating. However, we do not recommend pouring neat Impulse liquid directly onto Cyprophil boilies.

Breakdown times can vary depending on water temperature and conditions. Warmer water speeds up breakdown, while colder water slows it down. Fast breakdown 1-2 hours, Medium breakdown around 8 hours and slow breakdown 24 hours or more

No preparation is necessary. They are ready to use straight from the bag, although you can add liquids if desired (see attractant guidance).

In waters with high levels of nuisance fish or crayfish, faster breakdown boilies may disappear more quickly. In these situations, consider using more mid and slow breakdown options.

Yes, but it’s worth adjusting your breakdown mix depending on the venue, stock density, and session length.

Absolutely. The combination of different breakdown times makes them ideal for longer sessions, as they continue to release attraction over extended periods.

Yes, but in flowing water you may want to favour slower breakdown boilies to ensure they remain effective for longer.

This depends on fish activity and stock levels. Start with smaller amounts and build up if fish respond positively.
